Felt making
For the last few weeks, I have embarked on a felt making course at my local education centre. Ever wondered how to make felt? Here goes...
Using merino tops wool, pull small tufts and layer them onto a piece of bubblewrap - horizontally, then vertically, then horizontally again.
Place a piece of net on top. Wet slightly and rub on household soap. Move hands gently in a circular motion. After a few minutes, the wool will begin to felt. You may need to continue, or turn the wool over. Rinse the felt. Then dip into hot then cold water.
Roll in a sushi mat for 1 minute, then rotate 90 degrees and repeat - the felt will shrink. Rinse again, repeat as necessary until happy with size.

a few wonky attempts with:
felt balls and a bracelet
a flower and a leaf
a purse
an owl, which was going to be a bag...
but will now become a cushion
with a patchwork back
and a bag
with a rose

Actually, here in Wales there is a ban on bags - plastic and paper from shops, so you have to pay 5p for a bag- it's chaos in Mcdonalds!! So many angry men.....it's 5p guys!
But my bags were featured on this youtube video by the clever baggers...at 49 seconds..haha
Gocco business cards
Gocco - it's kind of fun, but slightly annoying...
the registration isn't great on this model...
and I wasted 2 bulbs...
I squeezed the design onto 1 screen, and moved the tag around between passes, using masking tape

Noah's Ark bunting
I've made 2 sets - 1 as a gift and 1 to sell
I've been busy this week, using up some fabric remnants, including Laura Ashley, to make this bunting.
2 by 2
I think I like the cows the best..this 'free' stitch worked well here.
I love this newspaper fabric.
Just getting used to machine embroidery.....
I bought a darning foot for my machine, although it didn't fit...luckily, it fitted my old machine that was in the attic.
