Felt making
For the last few weeks, I have embarked on a felt making course at my local education centre. Ever wondered how to make felt? Here goes...
Using merino tops wool, pull small tufts and layer them onto a piece of bubblewrap - horizontally, then vertically, then horizontally again.
Place a piece of net on top. Wet slightly and rub on household soap. Move hands gently in a circular motion. After a few minutes, the wool will begin to felt. You may need to continue, or turn the wool over. Rinse the felt. Then dip into hot then cold water.
Roll in a sushi mat for 1 minute, then rotate 90 degrees and repeat - the felt will shrink. Rinse again, repeat as necessary until happy with size.

a few wonky attempts with:
felt balls and a bracelet
a flower and a leaf
a purse
an owl, which was going to be a bag...
but will now become a cushion
with a patchwork back
and a bag
with a rose
