Destashing with a scrappy quilt

I'm starting a new quilt.I am using up some scraps to make hexie rosettes but i have decided to try a different pattern. I knew that I wanted a double ring like a previous quilt that I've finished in lockdown, but saw a pattern for a star that I liked.
My intention was to create matching coloured surrounding rosettes. I made a yellow quilt in 2012. I think I could make a whole quilt in yellow again, so cheery. But that would involve buying new fabric, which kind of defeats the object.
Maybe I should mix it up a little more... as I am using left overs, so its very scrappy, not necessarily blending fabrics. These include Moda playtime 30s layer cake.  I didn't use the black and reds from a previous quilt.

I have discovered that there is a pattern called 'Stars in the garden'. It is very pretty.

I thought the red was a bit much, too domineering, so toned it down with pinks.
I'm still not sure about the pattern, maybe each star will be surrounded by it's own colour scheme into a  bigger hexie? I'll just carry on with some more stars for now. Blues next...
