Fox

Fox study. I am currently working with Year 2, aged 6-7. 

I've always tried to see shapes when drawing, so this sleeping fox started as an oval, 'pebble' shape.

I picked the fern from my garden, and using my gelli plate, we printed a simple, but effective background with positive  and negative  prints. 

I'm a sucker for  a children's illustration  book. Here I've used the exquisite Coralie Bickford Smith's book 'The Fox and the Star' as inspiration, visuals always help.
