With this artwork, early in the term, with the focus on well-being due to lockdown and coronavirus, the children talked about their worries. They wrote a word onto a piece of white paper with a white oil pastel. This symbolised that other people may not be able to see their worries and they may keep them hidden, to themselves.
The 'worries' were then revealed by using a colour wash over the pastel. .i.e. oil and water do not mix. I used autumnal colours in yellow, orange and red with a wet sponge. A few flicks with a paint toothbrush added texture.
It's good to talk about our worries.
